A China-U.S. youth exchange event was held at Peking University recently aimed at advancing a new initiative to invite 100,000 young Americans to China over the next five years.

The event, themed "Embark on a New Journey: Together We Meet, Together We Embrace the Future", was co-hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange and Peking University.

Students said they came to experience Chinese culture and make friends. They found that young people from both countries share similar interests and dreams. The event aims to open a new chapter in China-U.S. youth friendship.
