As temperatures rise, Kuliang remains one of Fuzhou's favorite summer retreats, offering cool mountain breezes, lush forests and a refreshing escape from the city. This summer, visitors even have one more reason to head for the hills with the opening of the new China-U.S. Youth Friendship Park.

Officially opened last month, the park has quickly become one of Kuliang's newest attractions. Spanning more than 100,000 square meters, the mountainside park combines breathtaking natural scenery with the century-old story of friendship between China and the United States, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and exploration.

At the park's entrance, a natural boulder engraved with the words "China-U.S. Youth Friendship Forest" stands as a symbol of the enduring friendship between young people from the two countries.

Shaded pathways wind through towering cedar trees, offering a cool retreat even on the hottest summer days. Roses bloom along the trails, while vibrant agapanthus flowers brighten the landscape throughout the season, adding bursts of color to the mountain scenery.

One of the park's highlights is an area where 186 friendship trees, planted by Chinese and American participants in the Bond with Kuliang series of exchange events together with members of the Friends of Kuliang, continue to thrive as a living symbol of the enduring friendship between the two peoples.

Beyond the park, visitors can easily continue their journey to the nearby Zhuli Camping Site and Zhugangding Peak via newly connected roads and walking trails, making it convenient to explore Kuliang's mountain landscape in a single visit.

Located at one of Kuliang's highest points, Zhugangding offers sweeping panoramic views of Fuzhou. The campsite is equipped with 12 spacious canopy tents, along with tables, chairs and tea sets, allowing visitors to enjoy a relaxing outdoor experience without bringing their own camping gear.

Whether greeting the sunrise above drifting clouds, spending a leisurely afternoon in the cool mountain breeze, or watching the sunset give way to Fuzhou's glittering city lights beneath a star-filled sky, every moment at Kuliang invites visitors to slow down, unwind and embrace the charm of summer.
