A dialogue marking the 85th anniversary of the Flying Tigers' support for China during World War II brought together Chinese and U.S. participants on Tuesday in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, to commemorate their shared wartime history and promote people-to-people exchanges.

More than 200 people attended the event, including government representatives from 16 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, researchers and staff from institutions dedicated to preserving Flying Tigers history, relatives of the veterans of the Flying Tigers, representatives of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, and officials from the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou.

Participants discussed efforts to preserve the history of the Flying Tigers, carry forward their legacy, and strengthen the longstanding friendship between the Chinese and American peoples. They also reflected on the wartime cooperation between the two countries and shared views on promoting peace and future exchanges.

A youth exchange event was held simultaneously at the Liuzhou Military Museum, where young representatives from China and the United States jointly read the China-U.S. Initiative on Flying Tigers in the New Era.

During the event, three schools in Guangxi were designated as Flying Tigers Friendship Schools. Launched in 2022, the Flying Tigers Friendship School and Youth Leadership Program is a regular platform for exchanges between young people from the two countries. It now includes more than 100 schools in China and over 40 in the United States.
