Chinese and American students came together at Fuzhou No. 2 High School on June 30 for a great exchange that involved some real fun.

The action featured cultural performances, sports, traditional crafts and hands-on technology activities as part of the Bond with Kuliang: 2026 China-U.S. Youth Baseball Exhibition Games and Sports Festival.

Some 22 teachers and students from U.S. Flying Tigers Friendship Schools joined their counterparts at Fuzhou No. 2 High School for an afternoon of shared experiences. The time together fostered friendship, cultural understanding and meaningful connections between young people from the two countries.

Students at the Fuzhou school welcomed their new American friends with garlands of jasmine, the city flower of Fuzhou, as a gesture of friendship and hospitality.

The program blended the arts, sports and innovation in an engaging, interactive setting.

Music, dance and instrumental groups from the school gave lively performances before inviting the American students to join them on stage, connecting through music and performances.

Participants then explored a series of hands-on activities showcasing both traditional Chinese culture and modern technology. Guided by their Chinese pals, the American students tried electronic target shooting, table tennis, badminton and touhu, a traditional Chinese pitch-pot game.

They also made some lacquer fans, admired intricate paper-cut artworks and explored programmable robotics projects.

One highlight of the visit was a dry-land dragon boat relay, where Chinese and American students formed mixed teams and raced side by side. Filled with laughter, teamwork and friendly competition, the activity was an immediate hit with participants.

At the end of the activities, students exchanged souvenirs to commemorate the day and the friendships they had built.
