On April 10, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to an event commemorating the 55th anniversary of China-U.S. Ping-Pong Diplomacy and the launch ceremony of the China-U.S. Youth Sports Exchange Events.
As a flagship event of the China-U.S. Youth Sports Exchange Year, the Bond with Kuliang: 2026 China-U.S. Youth Baseball Exhibition Games and Sports Festival is held in Fuzhou and Pingtan, Fujian province, from June 28 to July 2.
The event is jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the General Administration of Sport of China, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government. It is organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People's Government and the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government, with support from the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports, and the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
Focusing on two central themes, telling the Kuliang story in the new era and strengthening China-U.S. youth sports exchanges through baseball and other sports, the festival is expected to bring together about 400 participants. Attendees include youth baseball teams from China and the United States, representatives from U.S. sister states and sister cities, members of the "Kuliang Friends", representatives of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, and teachers and students from Flying Tigers Friendship Schools.
The five-day program features more than 30 events, including the opening ceremony, meetings and a welcome banquet with provincial and municipal leaders, a Kuliang friendship gathering, China-U.S. youth baseball exhibition games, campus exchange activities involving Chinese and American student athletes, as well as cultural tours and field visits.
