The 2026 May Day relaxation-themed cultural event officially kicked off on May 1 at the Kuliang Tourist Resort in Fuzhou, drawing strong visitor participation and emerging as one of the most popular holiday destinations during the Labor Day break.

As a historic summer retreat dating back to the late 19th century, Kuliang is widely recognized for its distinctive Sino-Western heritage shaped over more than a century. Landmarks such as Cedar King Park, the Kuliang Club, and the Kuliang Post Office reflect its enduring cultural legacy. The event featured four emotion-themed interactive zones across key scenic areas. At DiamondreaM Bookhouse, visitors symbolically released worries and received uplifting messages. At Cedar King Park, a flying disc game encouraged participants to let go of negative emotions in a natural setting. At the Kuliang Club, magnetic dart games offered a playful way to relieve stress, while the Food Street Plaza brought a joyful ring-toss experience centered on positivity and fun.

Meanwhile, from May 1 to May 5, the Acorus exhibition at Niutouzhai Yunyin Teahouse offered a more serene cultural encounter, where visitors and plant enthusiasts exchanged insights on acorus culture and cultivation while appreciating the aesthetic beauty of natural forms.
