A solemn memorial ceremony was held in front of the statues of Generals Wu Shi and He Sui at the Hero Square of Fuzhou Sanshan Memorial Park in East China's Fujian province around Qingming Festival.
The two generals were fellow townsmen from Fujian and alumni of the Baoding Military Academy. He acted as Wu Shi's revolutionary mentor and introduced Wu to the Communist Party of China. Wu then became a vital intelligence figure on the Party's secret underground front in Taiwan.
In early 1950, Wu's identity was exposed after he was betrayed. He urgently arranged He to leave Taiwan to protect his life and family. Wu continued to work in Taiwan and was martyred in Taipei on June 10, the same year.
