The New Year holiday saw the debut of three specially curated check-in spots at Fuzhou's Gushan Mountain scenic area, drawing crowds of visitors who stopped to admire the scenery and capture memorable photos, making them popular landmarks within the area.
The millennium-old ancient trail in the Gushan Mountain scenic area, spanning approximately 2.5 kilometers and featuring 2,633 bluestone steps, has drawn locals and visitors to climb and offer prayers for blessings at the start of the year, thanks to its gentle gradient and suitability for all ages. In celebration of the New Year and in support of the initiative to become a national 5A-level tourist attraction, multiple scenic spots throughout Gushan have undergone optimization and upgrades, presenting a fresh new look to visitors from all over the country and other places of the world.
At the entrance of Xiayuan Square, the newly unveiled main entrance marker stands out as a striking visual highlight. The design incorporates horizontal steel frames, the undulating silhouette of mountain ranges and the engraved inscription "Gushan" as its central motifs. It not only captures Gushan's natural beauty but also reflects the region's rich cultural heritage, serving as an evocative symbol of Gushan's identity.
Adjacent to the entrance archway at the mountain's base, the new hiking check-in spot seamlessly blends into the surrounding forests, pathways and other natural and cultural elements. The overall design harmonizes with the mountainous landscape, cultivating a strong hiking culture ambiance and offering visitors a distinctive space to celebrate and record their climbing experiences.
Situated near the Minshan First Pavilion, the stone inscription check-in spot takes its inspiration from Gushan's iconic cliff carvings. Through carefully crafted miniature reproductions, fragments of these inscriptions are embedded into the structure's surface, creating a unique visual effect that symbolizes Gushan's enduring cultural tradition of preserving and transmitting history through stone.
Beyond the traditional New Year's practice of ascending Gushan, camping at the Zhugangding campsite on Kuliang Tourist Resort's mountaintop has emerged as a fashionable way to welcome the New Year. Here, visitors can take in stunning sunsets and sweeping panoramic views of Fuzhou's urban landscape.
Throughout the New Year holiday, Zhugangding hosted a thoughtfully arranged series of garden activities, including interactive games such as sugarcane tossing and ring-tossing for sugarcane prizes, adding fun and engagement to the celebrations. An array of local delicacies further delighted guests, providing diverse and enjoyable options for holiday outings.
