Summer blossoms brighten Fuzhou

The Fuzhou Landscaping Center has unveiled the city's August flower highlights, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a date with nature and explore the vibrant colors of summer across the city.

Victoria amazonica & Water lilies

The Water lilies in Fuzhou Chating Park have entered their peak growing season, featuring Victoria cruziana and Longwood varieties.
Where to see: Water lily area on both sides of Buyun bridge, and the east gate area of the Chating Park.

Frangipani & Curcuma alismatifolia

Frangipani blooms are delicate, with pure white petals and golden centers, while Curcuma alismatifolia, commonly known as Siam tulip, stands tall with large, vividly colored blossoms.
Where to see: Flower fields east of "Gushan Bridge" in Huahai Park, slopes near "Cherry Blossom Bank", and slopes beside park entrances.

Lotus, Thunbergia grandiflora & Allamanda schottii

Lotus flowers in Fuzhou West Lake Park sway gracefully in the breeze, while the trumpet-like blooms of Thunbergia grandiflora add a playful charm, and the golden Allamanda schottii radiates sunshine.
Where to see: Xidi Chunxiao, Lotus Pavilion, and Ink Pond in West Lake Park; trellises west of Changle South Road, Guangming Pavilion, and the east side of the north bank of Pudong River in Guangminggang Park.

Crape myrtle

Also known as the "hundred-day red" in China, crape myrtle reaches full bloom in late August, adorning trees with clusters of dreamy blossoms.
Where to see: Lotus Moonlight area in the South Garden of Minjiang Park; Wanglong Garden in the North Garden of Minjiang Park; Liuhuaxi Park (about 200 meters north of Yangzhou Road).

Golden Rain Tree (Koelreuteria bipinnata)

Bright yellow clusters bloom against green foliage in late August.
Where to see: Jinsha Garden and Qiaoliang Garden, North Garden of Minjiang Park.

Koelreuteria bipinnata 'integrifoliola'

A subspecies of the golden rain tree, it has smoother-edged leaves compared to the more serrated leaves of Koelreuteria bipinnata.
Where to see: Central and side medians of the South Second Ring Road (Pushang Avenue–Zexu Avenue).

Silk floss tree

By late August, pink-purple blossoms will cover the silk floss trees along Fufei South Road, forming romantic umbrella-like canopies.
Where to see: Sidewalks along Fufei South Road.
