Fringetrees in Kuliang after a mountain rain: A dreamlike encounter

流苏3.jpg

During Grain Rain, the fringetrees of Kuliang burst into full bloom, signaling one of spring's last floral spectacles.

This time of year often sees passing mountain showers. After the rain, the delicate fragrance of fringetree blossoms blends with the rising mist and the earthy scent of the forest, creating a scene that feels almost otherworldly—like a gentle snowfall in spring. It's no wonder this fleeting beauty is often called "April Snow".

Kuliang is home to around 50 fringetrees, including more than a dozen that are over a century old. Most are found in the Zhuli Scenic Area. For the best views, head to Zhuli Fringetree Path, Tingfeng Terrace, the Sunrise Viewing Platform, or the Zhuli Parking Lot.

The blossoms won't last for long—come to Kuliang and lose yourself in this evanescent, ethereal beauty before it fades into memory.
