Diego Montero is the senior director of strategy and international cooperation at the Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40). He is responsible for institutional research, communications, and strategic planning. Before joining the Institute for Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP), he had previously worked for international non-profit organizations, including a five-year tenure at the Energy Foundation China.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing rock music in Beijing's underground music scene.
