In 1907, Christianity began to spread in Kuliang, Fuzhou city of Fujian province, primarily serving foreign believers who spent their summers there. Subsequently, missionaries from both China and abroad rented the land and built villas in Kuliang, gradually expanding the influence of Christianity in the area. In 2001, local residents organized the construction of an impressive new church in Yixia village. Covering an area of 500 square meters with a floor area of 2,630 sq m, the church features architectural elements typical of local foreign villas, such as stone walls and large floor-to-ceiling windows.
